Packtalk Edge vs Sena 60S, Cardo Spirit vs Sena 30K and the budget Spirit HD vs Sena 5R, compared on manufacturer specs and on landed prices in Canada, the US, the UK and the EU. The surprise: a 30K dual pack lands within 2% of a Spirit HD Duo in Canada. ALLR data, 2026-10-05.

Pick the brand your riding group already owns, then pick the model. Cardo’s DMC mesh and Sena’s Mesh do not interoperate natively, so the brand decision is usually made for you; our brand-level Cardo vs Sena guide covers that. This guide goes one level down and answers the model pairs people actually search. Packtalk Edge vs Sena 60S: near-equal on features, with the 60S lasting longer per charge and the Edge listing a larger mesh group. Spirit vs Sena 30K: not like-for-like (the Spirit is a two-rider Bluetooth unit, the 30K a mesh unit), but in Canada a 30K dual pack lands within 2% of a Spirit HD Duo. Budget: Spirit HD vs Sena 5R is a close call that comes down to range, battery and price. Specs are from the manufacturers’ pages, prices from ALLR as of 2026-10-05.
Packtalk Edge vs Sena 60S
These are the two mid-flagship units riders cross-shop. The Cardo Packtalk Edge is second-generation DMC mesh with JBL speakers; the Sena 60S is Mesh 3.0 plus a cellular Wave Intercom with Harman Kardon speakers. (Sena has since added the 60S Evo with Sound by Bose; Cardo’s step up from the Edge is the Packtalk Pro, which adds crash detection.)
| Cardo Packtalk Edge | Sena 60S | |
|---|---|---|
| Mesh system | 2nd-gen DMC | Mesh 3.0 (back-compatible) |
| Group size | Up to 31 riders | Group 24; Open unlimited |
| Range | 1.6 km pair; 8 km group | BT 2 km; Wave unlimited |
| Talk time | 13 hours | 17 h Mesh; 24 h Bluetooth |
| Speakers | 40 mm JBL | 40 mm Harman Kardon |
| Water rating | IP67 | IPX7 |
| Bluetooth | 5.2 | 5.3 |
| Cross-brand pairing | Listed as supported | Universal Intercom (60S user guide) |
| Warranty | 3 years | 3 years |
| Maker’s US price | US$439.95 | Not shown |
On paper the two trade blows. Sena gives more battery, a 1.5-hour full charge, a cellular option for groups that spread out and a Bluetooth intercom range quoted at 2 km. Cardo gives a bigger quoted mesh group (31 versus 24 in a private Group Mesh), a simple magnetic mount and, per Cardo’s own pages, 2 hours of talk time after 20 minutes of charge. Neither brand’s range figure is a guarantee: they are open-terrain maximums.
| Region | Packtalk Edge | Sena 60S | Cheaper |
|---|---|---|---|
| Canada (CA$) | 455 (6 stores) | 472 (3 stores) | Edge by 3.5% |
| USA (US$) | 355 (4 stores) | 332 (4 stores) | 60S by 6.6% |
| UK (£) | 311 (1 store) | 251 (2 stores) | 60S by 19% |
| EU (€) | 313 (1 store) | 292 (2 stores) | 60S by 6.5% |
Two readings. First, the winner depends on where you live: in Canada the Edge is a hair cheaper, everywhere else the 60S is. Second, in the US the lowest price for the Edge (US$355 at a Canadian store that ships there) is 19% below the US$439.95 on Cardo’s own US store, so the maker’s price is not the number to plan around. UK and EU figures rest on one or two stores, so treat them as a pointer. The pair is close enough in price and capability that the deciding factor is your group’s brand, not the unit.
Cardo Spirit vs Sena 30K
These two are not direct rivals. The Cardo Spirit HD is a two-rider Bluetooth intercom (600 m, 13 hours, IP65, FM radio, 40 mm HD speakers); the plain Spirit is the cheaper version (400 m, 10 hours, 32 mm speakers, no FM, US$109.95 list). The Sena 30K is a mesh unit: Open Mesh (virtually unlimited users) and Group Mesh (24 riders), Bluetooth intercom for up to four riders, HD speakers, 14 hours of talk time on Mesh and 17 on Bluetooth, with a stated intercom range of 2 km. Sena describes quick charging as 2 hours of talk time from 20 minutes on the charger.
| Cardo Spirit | Cardo Spirit HD | Sena 30K | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Type | Bluetooth | Bluetooth | Mesh + Bluetooth |
| Riders | 2 | 2 | Mesh 24 or open; BT 4 |
| Range | 400 m | 600 m | 2 km (8 km relayed) |
| Talk time | 10 hours | 13 hours | 14 h Mesh; 17 h BT |
| Speakers | 32 mm | 40 mm HD | HD speakers |
| Water rating | IP65 | IP65 | Not on the page |

The price story is more interesting than the spec sheet. For a pair of units, ALLR’s data shows the Spirit HD Duo and a Sena 30K HD dual pack nearly level in Canada and the US.
| Region | Cardo Spirit HD Duo | Sena 30K HD dual pack | Difference |
|---|---|---|---|
| Canada (CA$) | 371 (7 stores) | 379 (1 store) | 30K +2.2% |
| USA (US$) | 260 (7 stores) | 266 (1 store) | 30K +2.2% |
| UK (£) | 166 (8 stores) | 201 (1 store) | 30K +21% |
| EU (€) | 225 (7 stores) | 250 (1 store) | 30K +11% |
If two riders are all you ever need, a Bluetooth unit is enough and the Spirit HD is the cheaper, simpler choice. If a third rider might join, or your friends already ride Sena, the 30K dual pack buys you mesh for nearly the same money in Canada and the US. Availability is the catch: only one store carries that exact pack today, where the Spirit HD Duo has seven.
The budget pair: Spirit HD vs Sena 5R
The like-for-like rival to the Spirit HD is Sena’s 5R, a two-rider Bluetooth unit rated by Sena at up to 700 m. Sena also sells the cheaper 5R Lite (same 700 m, 16 hours of talk time; the 5R is listed at 36 hours). Cardo’s Spirit HD quotes 600 m and 13 hours but adds FM radio and 40 mm HD speakers.
| Region | Cardo Spirit HD | Sena 5R | Sena 5R Lite |
|---|---|---|---|
| Canada (CA$) | 224 (6) | 156 (8) | 122 (8) |
| USA (US$) | 162 (6) | 117 (7) | 82 (8) |
| UK (£) | 129 (2) | 84 (6) | 57 (7) |
| EU (€) | 136 (2) | 112 (6) | 75 (6) |
In every region the Sena units are cheaper: the 5R by 30% in Canada and the 5R Lite by 45%. What the extra money for the Spirit HD buys is FM radio and larger speakers, so the decision is whether you use those.
Mixed groups: what actually works
Cardo’s product pages mark cross-brand connectivity as supported on the Spirit, Spirit HD and Packtalk Edge, and Sena’s 60S user guide documents a “Universal Intercom” pairing mode for headsets from other brands that support the Bluetooth Hands-Free Profile (only one non-Sena headset can connect directly), although the 60S product page does not mention it, so check the model you are buying. In practice this is a Bluetooth bridge, one pair at a time. It is a workaround for a mixed ride, not a substitute for a shared mesh network; Bennetts BikeSocial has a hands-on look at Cardo and Sena cross-compatibility. Mesh generations also matter within a brand: Sena’s 60S manual says to talk to legacy Mesh 2.0 products you switch the unit to Mesh 2.0 in the Sena Motorcycles app, so check which version your group’s oldest unit runs before assuming everything works.
Which pair answers your question
- 01Friends all on Cardo.Packtalk Edge for the value flagship; Spirit HD if it is only the two of you.
- 02Friends all on Sena.60S (or 60S Evo for Bose audio) for the flagship; 30K for mesh on a smaller budget; 5R or 5R Lite for pairs.
- 03No group yet, two riders.Bluetooth is enough. Compare the Spirit HD with the 5R on range, FM radio and price.
- 04No group yet, may grow.Pick mesh now: Edge or 60S in the flagship tier, 30K as the lower-cost Sena option.
- 05Helmet-integrated.Some premium helmets have brand-specific mounts. Check the helmet’s intercom compatibility list; our helmet certifications guide covers what to verify before buying a helmet.

Where to find these units
Prices here are a dated snapshot (2026-10-05); the method is on the methodology page. Browse all Cardo and Sena units or the communication catalog.
